If you need to start up tutorial for Facebook, here are two videos on how to join Facebook and add Friends.
Here is a tutorial to help you start your own Group.
- Start by logging in to Facebook using the email address you registered with.
- Type "Groups" in Search box in the upper right corner. As you type, you'll eventually see a list that appears below. Click Groups in that list.
- On the next screen, click the "Create a Group" button.
- Fill in the form's required information and set a privacy level. We chose "Help [Our First Names Here] Adopt" for our group name. In the group description, we entered the text from our designated adoption letter we wrote. We also explained how members of our group could invite their Facebook friends to the group. Our group members can invite their Facebook friends to the group only because we set our privacy level to Public. When you are finished, click the "Create Group" link.
- Upload a photo that represents your group. The file size limit is 4MB.
- Choose your officers by clicking the "Officers" tab. Don't forget to make yourself an officer. You can create any position you want.
- Edit the details of your group at any time on the "Group Info" tab.
Promote Your Group
- When logged into Facebook, type "Groups" in Search box in the upper right corner. As you type, you'll eventually see a list that appears below. Click Groups in that list.
- Click on "My Groups" and click your group.
- Go to the "Members" tab. You can choose to invite your Facebook friends to join your group by simply marking the check boxes by their name. You can also invite non-Facebook friends to join your group by adding their email address.
Hopefully this tutorial gets a Facebook group up and running to help your adoption efforts. If you have any questions don't hesitate to post a question in the comments.
